Up in the Sky is the primary online aviation platform in the Netherlands and Belgium. Having grown significantly over the past few years, our platform is now visited by over 1.2 million visitors every month. Our audience consists mainly of frequent flyers and aviation professionals, as well as a large number of aviation enthusiasts. Everybody that is tempted to look up at the sky when an aircraft flies by, so to speak. This allows Up in the Sky to reach both those who are very directly involved with the aviation industry, as well as those only somewhat interested in our world — something that has proven particularly important over recent years.
The content on our website is created daily by a team of around twenty people that, first and foremost, share a passion for aviation. They compose all news articles and background stories, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Alongside the need to know, Up in the Sky also publishes a lot of nice to know items such as analyses, columns, stories on remarkable events, book reviews, podcasts and more. Additionally, we have a carefully selected number of aviation related gifts available for online order through our webshop. In late 2024, following the growing number of difficulties related to unfilled vacancies in the Dutch and Belgian aviation industry, Up in the Sky introduced the option to promote job vacancies directly through placement in our news articles, newsletters and on social media, reaching well over a million people a month. Our aim is to bridge the gap between labor shortages in the industry and readers (primarily those only remotely interested in the aviation industry) that would not automatically imagine applying for those jobs. The first campaigns have proven to be very effective.
